Brazilian five-headed death metal horde PAPA NECROSE’s modus operandi is their shared hatred toward the Catholic Church and all the inhumane maneuvers that the Vatican has implemented. The band blatantly sticks a knife into the heart of world religion within its filthy compositions, recalling influences such as SEPULTURA, OBITUARY, PESTILENCE, DEATH, and AUTOPSY.

Signed to Awakening Records in 2022, the band’s second full-length album ‘Anthropomorphy Execution’ is slated for an end of March 2026 release. On its 10 vicious tracks—which took three years in the making—PAPA NECROSE unleashes a death metal attack with thrash metal undertones.

The duo axe attack from Danilo Vagner and Carlos Silva create engaging melodies within their methodically-picked riffs and elegant guitar solos, while a battering of furious rhythmic thrusts, compliments of bassist Éric Gusmão and drummer Luquian Silva, adds a blistering dynamic to the band’s sonic arsenal.

Album opener “Fall, Die, and Break” immediately strikes with incredible, pulsating bass lines, thrash-laden chugging riffs and blasting snare beats. The composition’s mid-paced battering is nicely accompanied by Alessandro Chinelle’s vitriolic vocals. Tracks “Hammered in the Mind” and the titular title track utilizes the band’s OBITUARY influences, while “The Thousand Yard Gaze” pays homage to ‘Human’-era DEATH.

On the writing and recording process for ‘Anthropomorphy Execution’:
“The songs grew and transformed over about three years. It took us quite a while to release this material, and we even changed the delivery deadline to our friend Li Meng several times, precisely because of the difficult task of working, rehearsing, composing, mixing, mastering, and all the other issues. We decided to record and do the entire album process at our guitarist’s studio, Evil Studio, with the professionalism developed by Luquian Silva, our guitarist’s son and also the band’s drummer.”

“I consider the recording process for this album to be very positive, but also laborious and exhausting at many points,” vocalist Alessandro Chinelle explains. “Compared to previous works, the process was technically simpler because we had more time to record, and the band felt more comfortable with the songs. What this album has is what we have always aimed for in terms of the technical level of death metal.”

On signing with Awakening Records: “We’re happy to sign a contract with our comrade Li Meng, and even more so, releasing through China is a great satisfaction,” guitarist Danilo Vagner admits. “It’s a country we greatly respect and admire for its ethical and ideological stance, and whose political position we’re particularly familiar with. We want to deliver the professionalism we know we’ll receive from Awakening Records.”

“I believe our partnership with Awakening Records is a step up,” Chinelle agrees. “We’re releasing through an international label at a time when these opportunities are becoming increasingly difficult. So I think this release points to a change in visibility for the band.”
